Academic Appeals Procedure


How to Do:

1. A student who has an academic problem/complaint should discuss the problem with the course Faculty member.  The student should always strive to initially resolve the dispute with the course Faculty member.

 

2. If the matter cannot be satisfactorily resolved with the Faculty member, the student may file an appeal in writing to the Dean of the School of Nursing.  Thereafter the Dean will attempt to mediate the problem.

 

3. In the event that the problem is still unresolved, mediation from the Vice President for Academic Affairs may be sought. See the Cumberland University catalog for details.

 

4. If the preceding steps do not resolve the problem, the student may appeal to the President.

Special Warnings:

Students being adversely affected by decision, Student conduct case being dropped, Legal action taken because of conduct decision
