Critical Incident Procedure
|

How to Do:
A critical incident report will be initiated based on the Faculty’s recognition of failure of the student to adhere to standards as identified in Appendix C. The student and Faculty member will meet to discuss the event and identify an action plan for improvement. The Critical Incident Report will be forwarded to the Dean of the School of Nursing and subsequently to the Nursing Admission and Progression Committee.
A student may appeal a critical incident in writing to the Dean who will take the appeal request to the Nursing Admission and Progression Committee for resolution. The student will be notified in writing of the Committee's decision. If the student disagrees with the Committee’s decision, the student may appeal the decision to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. If the issue remains unresolved, the student may appeal to the President.
