University owned and/or administered computers are capable of connecting to the campus computer network and providing the following basic functions: network communication, word processing, email, web browsing, spreadsheet, presentations, and database. Any function other than those listed is unusual and will require prior written approval to install from the Vice President for Facilities, IT, and Infrastructure via the Office of Information Technology. Modems, CD-ROM players, sound cards, scanners, printers, or other hardware additions to the standard configuration network capable computer are not permitted without prior written permission from the Vice President for Facilities, IT, and Infrastructure via the Office of Information Technology.
