In an effort to stabilize our University registration process for the first weeks of the Fall Semester, we will adamantly adhere to the following Academic Deadline Policy. Students are responsible for insuring the completion documents and obtaining necessary signatures. The student must deliver the documents to the Registrars Office before the end of business (4:30 PM) on the deadline date. Students should never leave documents with faculty, advisors, or administrators for forwarding to others. Specific calendar dates for the following are detailed in the University Register and on the University web site.
Late Fee Date. Fees due for all returning students. Returning students that do not complete their financial obligation documents by this date will be assessed a late fee.
First day of classes. All students are expected to be in attendance at this time. Late arriving students will have missed sessions recorded as absences. Course grades may be affected by these absences.
Last day to add a course. Documentation containing all necessary signatures to add a course must be submitted to the Registrars Office no later than the close of business on this date.
Last day to become Official. All Cumberland University students must have completed all financial arrangements with the University Business Office by the end of business on this date. Students failing to meet this deadline will be dropped from the University rolls. They will not be considered for admittance until the next semester.
Last day to drop a course with a grade of W. Documents with all appropriate signatures must be filed with the University Registrar no later than the close of business on this date. The grade of W has no impact on the Grade Point Average.
Last day to drop a course with a grade of WP or WF. Documents with all appropriate signatures must be filed with the University registrar no later than the close of business on this date. The student will receive a grade of either WP or WF based on work completed. The WP grade does not impact the students Grade Point Average. The WF grade has the same impact as an F on the Grade Point Average.
