The mission of the African American Student Association is to promote awareness, diversity and unity at Cumberland University.  Our goal is to grow and become a respectable organization on and off campus.  The purpose of A.A.S.A is to educate all members on relevant discussions such as health, politics, graduate opportunities, scholarship information, and community service.  We promote and encourage participation in community affairs.  A.A.S.A is One Group…One Hope…One Heart…and One Mind.  We do not discriminate based on race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.
